Overview:
The Wookiees came in with a bang in Series 1, and were one of the strongest factions in the game. Their Special Powers really helped each other out and they had some strong figures to build on. However, Series 2 only saw two new Wookiee figures, and Series 3 saw none. It doesn't look like Series 4 will have any Wookiees, either. Unless you've already got an established Wookiee team, it's going to be hard to build one from scratch.

While there are several strong figures in this team, I believe the Wookiees really suffer from having no 10 point figures. The Wookiee Scout definitely has his merits, but his 20 point cost is a real bummer. In low point games you'll never have many figures in an all-Wookiee squad.

Strikers:
The Wookiee team has two Strikers, and both are very powerful. Tarfful may have the strongest strike of any figure in the game. Chewbacca packs nearly the same punch, but at a cost of only 20 points. These two figures are clearly the strength of this team.

Launchers:
None of the Wookiee Launchers is overly powerful, but the Wookiee Scout packs a pretty good punch for a small bullet figure. He is also pretty accurate. However, once he has fired, his defense is almost non-existent. Nearly any hit will bring him down.

Special Powers:
With only six figures, you're obviously not going to get a lot of options here. Tarfful does have a Recover power, but unfortunately it is very low at 31%. That's definitely not something you can count on. The Wookiee Warrior actually has a higher Recover power (38%) but it requires your team to have a Jedi in play. Chewbacca has a very nice special - Attackback for two of your Wookiees - and it even shows up 50% of the time. The Wookiee Captain can Recruit a Wookiee, but again it's a low probability - 38%. The Wookiee Commando's Rally is also low at the same 38%. None of these specials are above 50%, which is a big strike against the Wookiee team.

Effects:
R2-D2 wouldn't be a great help to this team because it is such a high-cost team. Depending on the point value of the game, you might not even have four figures that could take full advantage of R2. The Medic Droid, on the other hand, could help bring one of those high-cost Wookiees back into the game.

Other Figures:
Any Jedi could be a good addition to this team, as it would enable the Wookiee Warrior's Recover power. S2 Starter Kenobi is a great fit, as the Wookiee Scout could keep him around for quite a while.

Suggested Teams:
However you want to build your Wookiee squad, I believe it's got to rely heavily on Tarfful and Chewbacca. Their strikes are so powerful that they can quickly annihilate your opponent.
