Overview:
This team was nearly useless in Series 1, and only received a minor upgrade in Series 2. There were no new Republic figures in Series 3, and it looks like there won't be any in Series 4 either. Chances are we've seen the last of the additions to this faction, so it will continue to be limited in its usefulness. While there are several figures on this team, the vast majority are useless. I even felt like it was a stretch putting two of those three figures on the "Mid Figures" list. The Republic simply isn't a stand-alone team, and it probably wasn't meant to be one in the first place. There are a handful of worthy support figures here, but that's it.

Strikers:
This section shouldn't take too long, as the entire Republic faction only has one Striker: Tion Medon. He's actually a pretty good figure, but he doesn't benefit the Republic in any way. His greatest help is to the Jedi team, as his Rally (50%) can bring any Jedi back in the game. That's a pretty high ratio for a 20 point figure, and he has 12 speed to boot.

Launchers:
Here we find that the Republic's best Launcher, Commander Gree, also helps out the Jedi. Since the Jedi don't have many Launcher options of their own, Gree is a great figure to join them. He has a 54% chance of giving an Attackback to one of your Jedi. When I tested all my large missile Launchers for pure shooting power, Gree was right near the top. The Wookiee Commando from the Series 1 Starter Set is also a Republic figure. He has fairly good power and a high ratio Special Power - 69% Attackback for one of your Leaders. There are only a handful of powerful Leader figures in Attacktix, so you've got to be careful who you team him up with.

After that you've got a whole lot of clone action going on. It's my personal opinion that Padme and Bail are two of the worst Attacktix figures ever made.

Special Powers:
Obviously the best Special Powers here are the Attackback and Rally for your Jedi figures. The rest of the figures are weak in and of themselves and wouldn't be worth using even if they had better Special Powers.

Effects:
Probably the greatest contribution to Attacktix that the Republic team has made is the Medic Droid. Every five rounds it can bring any figure back into the game. A lot of the games I play are over in five rounds, or are at least nearly decided. For that reason, I tend not to use the Medic Droid. I also think he would've been much better if he had a Special Power, perhaps a "Recover if you have a Republic figure in play"? R2-D2 and R2-Q5 both have Special Powers, so I don't understand why the Medic Droid doesn't.

Other Figures:
The Republic really isn't supplemented by other figures; they have three figures that supplement other teams. The Medic Droid is universal, and Gree and Tion Medon are both meant to help the Jedi.

Suggested Teams:
I wouldn't want to build a team around this faction. Republic figures might best be used as trophy figures or perhaps to be played in "Ironman Attacktix"!
