Overview:
I'm not sure why Hasbro decided to make
this faction, although I'm certainly not complaining. My first custom
Attacktix figure was a Jawa. But I don't know why they made these guys
before Gungans or Ewoks. Ewoks look to be arriving in Series 4, but
there's no sign of more Jawas. I wouldn't be surprised if these two
guys are the only Jawas that Attacktix players ever see. Two figures
certainly doesn't leave many team building options.
Strikers:
NONE. I'm not sure
you could even make a case for a Jawa Striker, as they seem to be very
weak little fellas in the movies.
Launchers:
Even though the Jawa
Warlord has a large bullet, I find that he's just not as powerful as
other large missile Launchers. The standard Jawa has pretty decent
power for a small missile Launcher. The strength of both of these
figures lies in their defense. They can both tripod and have very
sturdy bases that are tough to knock out. Since the Jawa is only ten
points, you could try to swam with them. However, the Jawa is a rare
figure, so building a huge army of them could be difficult.
Special Powers:
For only having two figures, their aren't that bad. The Warlord has a pretty good power (54%) allowing him to keep his bigger gun around for a while. The standard Jawa has a 15% chance to another Jawa into the game.
Effects:
The Jawa team doesn't
have any of its own Effects figures, but I could see R2-D2 joining in
here quite nicely. Given that they're all Launchers and there is a 10
point trooper, it's likely you'll have enough figures to take advantage
should R2 ring up four attacks for your team. And besides, doesn't R2
belong with the Jawas?
Other Figures:
Obviously this
team is in need of some Striker support. Series 1 Darth Vader or Series
2 Starter Kenobi are prime candidates, as both need a Trooper for their powers. Kit Fisto is also a viable option, as he's likely to trigger more attacks for your Jawa Launchers.
